Why will printed Church pictorial directories always  be of benefit to the church? The obvious use of a photo directory is to connect names with faces.  But there are other uses not so obvious: 1. A historical pictorial document that will help preserve the legacy of your church. 2. A symbolic piece that photographically celebrates Family; individual families and the larger church family. 3. A photo directory is a great devotional tool.  Every morning or evening in your prayer time, pick out one family to pray for. 4. A church directory helps build bonds of fellowship between members, and ultimately strengthens and helps unify the congregation or parish. 5. Share your directory with your friends or neighbors.  A picture tells a thousand words.  This is a great way to start a conversation that could lead to a prospective new member joining your church. What other purposes can you think of that a church photo directory might provide?

I became a huge fan of church photo directories many years ago, when I was a full time pastor.  On one occasion in particular, I recall receiving a fresh new photo directory from a church that had just called me to be their new pastor.  It was so helpful for me.  I remember studying the faces of each family in prepartion for my first meeting with them. A few weeks later when I arrived to begin my new ministry, I was greeted by people I felt I already knew. They were equally impressed when I greeted them by name.  There is just something awesome about being able to hold a beautiful, printed photo directory in your hands.   It's especially fun to look back at past directories and remember what was happening with the church at that time, and to recall those who are with the Lord now.  They really are an amazing time capsule and document   the ever growing Legacy of your church.
